John "Big John" Jaenicke's Obituary
John "Big John" Jaenicke, age 80 was born in Greenville, Michigan on November 11, 1937 and passed away at home on August 28, 2018. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis; children, Paul (Rhonda) Jaenicke, Tom Jaenicke, Linda (Dave) Sterner; five grandsons, Tyler, Dylan, Joshua, Justin, and Nicholas; brother, Chuck and sister, Pat; several nieces and nephews. John is a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from SPX after 30 years of service. He was a Boy Scout leader and Little League baseball coach along with being an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He was an active Grandpa who enjoyed attending all five of his grandsons sporting events. He loved the construction trade and was always building something as well as enjoyed gardening. He was a music lover, especially of old school country. He also loved his MSU Spartans. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Sunset Celebration Center, 3593 E. Pontaluna Rd., Fruitport, Michigan on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm with Military Honors being bestowed at 1:15 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or any VFW post of your choice.
