John W. McIntyre's Obituary
John W. McIntyre, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
He was born in Muskegon on June 1, 1940 to Walter and Gertrude (Anderson) McIntyre.
John and his wife, Mary Ellen met on July 9, 1958 when the church youth group went to Silver Lake for the day. They got married on his parent's 28th wedding anniversary on March 26, 1966 and have enjoyed 53 years of marriage together.
John loved the organ, the Atlanta Braves and all baseball and hockey. On the night of his marriage, he and Mary Ellen attended a Mohawk game together.
John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ellen; 2 brothers, Gordon (Ellis) McIntyre of North Carolina and William (Robin) McIntyre of Indiana; sisters-in-law, Nancy Ward of Muskegon and Jean (Jim) Rackes of Grand Rapids; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, John and Barb Barkel. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Dan McIntyre.
John was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church, 540 Houston Ave. in Muskegon where a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions can be made to Samuel Lutheran Church or Hospice of Michigan.
