Joni L. Mahoney's Obituary
Joni Mahoney (Goldner) 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July
12th (one day before her 63rd birthday). Joni was born in 1959 in Muskegon, Michigan. She
graduated from Montague High School in 1977 and worked at Howmet until she retired at the
age of 58.
Joni was the life of the party and loved having a cocktail with her friends. Her motto: She only
liked beer and 3 (or less) friends. Some of her favorite times were canoeing and kayaking on
White River with the people she loved. She was an avid gardener and would spend hours
meticulously maintaining her yard and bark park. She gifted many beautiful flowers to friends
and family every year and now so many gardens are colorful with memories of her. Joni wanted
a clean house and everything in its place (one of the reasons why she and Larry got along so
well...Larry always did what he was told). She also spent lots of time doing arts and crafts and
loved to host "craft days''. Some of her most interesting pieces are hanging in family and
friends' homes. Joni enjoyed garage sales and many of her finds were incorporated into her
home-decor. Above everything else, her children and grandchildren meant the world to her
and spending time with them was on the top of her list. Joni could not go a day without
exercising, riding her exercise bike or using Suzanne Somers' thigh master.
Joni is survived by her husband Larry Goldner, children Max (Jackie) Beegle and Erin (Damian)
Millisor, step-children Rachel Goldner and Shawna (Adam) Ramthun, and grandchildren Lucas,
Iris, Nicolas, and Eloise Millisor, Leo and Mila Ramthun.
Joni is also survived by her parents Don and Sis Mahoney, siblings Dan (Linda) Mahoney, Robin
Mahoney, Randy (Carrie) Mahoney, and Brook (Kevin) Drooger, mother in-law Katee Heath, and
sibling in-laws Lee (Linda) Goldner, Cathy (Tim) Zeeman, and Nancy (Rich) Goldner-Arnold.
She is also survived by a pack of nieces, nephews and a long-list of friends.
Joni's humor, kindness, love and spunkiness will be remembered by all who knew her. She will
forever live in our hearts and memories.
Joni's wish was to hold only a celebration of life for close friends and family. The celebration will
be held in her and Larry's backyard on August 27th, 2022 from 3-9pm.
