Joseph Gerald Strayer's Obituary
Joseph Gerald Strayer, age 50 was born on November 17, 1974, in Muskegon, Michigan and passed away at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence on September 7, 2025. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Theresa Strayer. Survivors include his mother, Carol Strayer; aunt, Patricia (Robin) Cox, cousin, Danielle Cox; canine companions, Bare and Karma; along with a large extended family.
Joseph graduated from Muskegon High School in 1992 and worked for several years at Walmart. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing and especially spending time with friends around a bonfire. According to his wishes he will be interred at Lakeside Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Joseph on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Eagles Aerie #3306, located at 2355 W. Sherman Blvd in Muskegon. Then on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. a benefit will be held, also at the Lakeside Eagles. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
