Joy L. Shimp's Obituary
Joy L. Shimp, age 65 went to be with Christ on March 30, 2017. She is survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, Jeff Shimp; her son, Chad (Jennifer) Lester; two grandchildren, David and Nicole Lester; her mother, Dorothy Coleman; father, William Lundeen; brothers, Bob (Carrie) Lundeen and Dave (Julie) Lundeen; several nieces and nephews. Joy worked as a Registered Nurse and performed many duties in her career, with her favorite duty being that of an operating room nurse. She was a talented craftswoman who enjoyed both knitting and crochet. Joy was an avid cribbage player and was a Life Master in the American Cribbage Congress. She and Jeff are members of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes, 717 Sheldon Road in Grand Haven, where Joy taught nearly 40 Bible Studies and where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, also at the church, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Valley of Our Lady Monastery, E11096 Yanke Drive, Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin, 53578 Leave a tribute for Joy at our website www.shorelinememorial.com Arrangements by Shoreline Memorial Services, Muskegon (231)-722-5050
