Judith Ann Schultz's Obituary
With sadness, love and profound gratitude the family of Judith "Jude" Ann Schultz announces her passing on July 7, 2022 at the age of 81 years old.
Judith was born on March 5, 1941 to her parents Anna Elizabeth and William Thomas Morse Sr in Muskegon, MI.
Judith was a part of the first graduating class of Reeths Puffer in 1959 with her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 happy years, Loren Keith Schultz.
It has been said that "Marriage is finding that special someone you want to annoy for the rest of your life" and they lived this out daily. They cherished one another and delighted in their family with an unfiltered healthy sense of humor. Her greatest passion in life was her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren for whom she would move mountains. Look out. Although she hated cheerleading for the Rockets, she was her family's biggest cheerleader. Her voice carried throughout the stands as she was often relocated or given a sucker to minimize her loud honesty.
She retired from Holton Public Schools where she was affectionately called "Lunch lady Judy" and was present at every home football game. She lived out her passion here as she made sure there was no mouth left behind and everyone was taken care of and well fed. You felt her love through endless acts of service. She was a pioneer of the free lunch program at her school as she gave food to everyone in need.
She enjoyed ice skating as a child and color tours in northern Michigan, puzzles and 'friendly' jeopardy competitions with her husband. She loved anything to do with Christmas time and Christmas Eve with her family was one of favorite days of the year. You could also find her reading or doing crosswords most days after she retired from Holton Schools and again from Camp Pendalouan where she was beloved by all.
She is survived by her husband, Loren Schultz, sister Joan (Jim) Deters, brother William (Beverly) Morse and her daughters Debra (Bruce) Hoffman and Julie (Jim) Pigors and her grandchildren, David (Jenna) Maynard, Matthew (Lindsey) Hoffman, Marci (Matthew) Maynard, Rachel (Malachi) Knauff and Emily (John) Jansen. Her beloved great grandchildren, Porter, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Aiden, Khalil, Isabella and Brooklyn. Also survived by her beloved dog, Slinky and her cat, Meow.
Judith is proceeded in death by her parents, Anna and William Morse Sr, her brothers Lawrence, Howard, Roger and David Morse. Her sister, Ruth Nordstrom.
The family of Judith Schultz would like to invite you to the celebration of her life. There will be a funeral Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM. This will take place at Holton United Methodist Church (9530 Holton Duck Lake Road, Holton, Michigan). Following the service there will be a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in her honor to her church, Holton United Methodist Church.
