Laura C. Kempf's Obituary
Laura C. Kempf, age 106, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born on April 8, 1912 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Laura is survived by her two daughters, Sally Legard and Marlene (Dennis) Pendell; daughter-in-law, Kathy Parker; grandchildren, John (Linda) Legard, Tom Legard, Jim Parker, Julie (Jerry) Downs, Jerry (Tammy) Parker, Richard Parker, Sheri (David) Ramos, Joel (Jeana) Parker, Erin (Scott Breen) Pendell and Eric (Crystal) Pendell; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Tom Carroll; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William Parker; her brothers, Jerome Allore, Joseph (Mary) Allore; sister-in-law, Donna Carroll; son-in-law, Robert Legard and one great-grandchild. Laura was retired from Muskegon's Northshore Hospital and was a member of Lakeside Community Church. Laura enjoyed spending time with her family as well as baking, quilting, crocheting and spent most of her retirement years making and selling dolls and was known by many as "the doll lady". The family would like to thank the staff at Christian Care Assisted Living for their compassion and skilled assistance. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the spring on April 13, 2019 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Road in North Muskegon, with Pastor Zawdie K. Abiade officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Christian Care Assisted Living's Activity Fund, 1530 McLaughlin Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442 or the Harbor Hospice Foundation, 1050 W.
