Louise J. Gillish's Obituary
Louise J. Gillish, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024, after a long illness. She was born on September 22, 1940, to Harold and Pauline (VanNoordwyk) Swiftney in Muskegon, Michigan.
She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. Louise was a ray of sunshine to those who knew her and had many friends.
She worked in electronics for many years and was an accomplished cake decorator. She also loved music and was a very talented keyboard player. Louise was also a member of Blue Lake Community Church.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Bernard Gillish, and her children, Amanda (Tony) Shoup, Monica (Scott Broton) Fox and Bernie Gillish; 4 grandchildren, Michelle (Rich), Troy (Sabrina), Tiffany (Damian) and Jacob (Whitney); 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Swiftney; sister, Noreen (Todd) Curtis; special friends, Lisa and Scott Peters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pauline Swiftney; daughter, Renee Gillish; brother, Harold Swiftney; sister-in-law, Shery Swiftney.
A Celebration of Life Service for both Louise and Bernard will be held at Blue Lake Community Church in Twin Lake, located at 10981 Blue Lake Road, in Holton, Michigan 49425 on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 12:00 noon with Pastor Kevin Pycraft officiating. Memorials in memory of Louise's love of animals may be directed to Noah Project or Pound Buddies.
