Martin Ray Kieft's Obituary
Martin Ray KieftMarch 11, 1938 - February 22, 2025
Martin Ray Kieft, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born to the late Walter and Luella Kieft, Martin was a man of introspection and had a love for life's simple joys. He was preceded in death by his son, David Kieft; a great-grandson; his sister, Carol Hanson; and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Sharon Kieft; his children, Jill (Andy) Lambrix, Sue (Rick) Kinstner, Thomas (Robyn) Kieft, and Hope Tracy; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister, Cathie Eriksen; his brother, Dennis (Rebecca) Kieft; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law.
Martin worked many jobs throughout his life, most notably selling cars and, in his later years, at Meijer. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying time on the water in his boat, the Zippy K, and making memories camping with family. His passion for cars was evident in both his work and hobbies. He loved reading western novels, watching classic westerns on TV, and never missed an episode of American Pickers. An avid yard sale treasure hunter, Marty had a knack for finding hidden gems and bargains wherever he went.
Marty quietly supported his family his entire life. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
