Mary Anna Wygant's Obituary
Mary Anna Wygant died November 29, 2023, at Poppen Hospice Residence-Harbor Hospice. She was born to Clarence and Anna (Carr) Larson in Escanaba, Michigan. Mary grew up in Rock, Michigan, and graduated from Rock High School. Following graduation, she moved to Chicago and attended St. Anthony de Padua nursing school where she received her RN degree. She moved to California where she met Robert Wygant. They were married in 1955, at El Toro Marine Base where Bob was stationed as a U.S. Marine pilot. They moved to many different locations throughout the United States until settling in Muskegon, Michigan. Walking, hiking and nature studies were favorites of Mary's.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bob, in April 2023, brother Jack and sisters-in-law Betty and Alice. She is survived by children Robert Jr. (Karen) Wygant of Muskegon, Jane (Mark) Horrocks of Ionia, Susan (Brian) Jackson of Kalamazoo and Barbara Wygant of Grand Rapids; 7 grandchildren, Breana (Jeff) Ruthkowski, Cassandra Wygant, Ross (Elizabeth) Jackson, Liz Horrocks (Bruce Winegar), Kellie Jackson, Robbie Wygant and Dan (Kayla) Horrocks; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara (Tom) Cleary, brother Jim Larson and brother-in-law Lloyd (Norma) Wygant.
Upon her request a private memorial with family is planned for a later date.
