Michael E. Basaj's Obituary
Michael E. Basaj was born on September 18, 2003, in Whitehall, Michigan and passed away on April 6, 2022. Michael was a senior in high school and set to graduate. He worked at the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park where he was a Luge coach and DNR booth attendant. He was an avid computer programmer, fluent in most programming languages. He contributed to many collaborate programing projects online. During the summer he volunteered at SCCA racing events, running the sound control.
Michael is survived by his parents, Lenny, and Carola (Möx) Basaj; siblings, Alexander, Anna and Maria; maternal grandparents, Waltraud and Heinrich Möx, of Tangerhütte, Germany. Also surviving is his Milwaukee family, uncle and aunt, Joe and Kim Basaj and their children, Bailey, Elijah, and Sophia Basaj; aunts, Barb and Lia Basaj, and their children, Renata and Julian Basaj, and in Germany, uncle, Andreas Möx, and his children, Ilka and Hagen Möx. Michael was preceded in death by an aunt, Viola Möx.
Michael was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church, 5149 Dowling Street, Montague, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Chris Rouech officiating.
