Oretta E. Shulmier's Obituary
Oretta Shulmier, age 90, was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 14, 1931, to the late Lesley and Margaret (Moore) Fairfield and passed away at home under the loving care of her family and Emmanuel Hospice on July 9, 2021. Oretta was preceded in death by her husband Robert Shulmier in 2006. She is survived by her two children, Debra A. (Donald) DeWitt and Michael R. Shulmier; grandchildren, Vernon (Kim) DeWitt, Mandi Talasek, Krystal Shulmier, Michael D. (Melissa) Shulmier and Awbree Shulmier; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary McCormick; brother, Ivan "Jerry" (Colleen) Fairfield. Along with her parents and husband Oretta was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Longnecker, and a brother, James Fairfield; granddaughter, Brandy; brother-in-law, Jim McCormick; daughter-in-law, Lory Shulmier. Oretta enjoyed crochet, embroidery, and camping. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service is pending. Oretta will be interred next to her husband Robert in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
