Patricia Ann Buterakos' Obituary
Patricia A. Buterakos was born on January 4, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph and Catherine (Schmidt) Daly, and passed away on October 31, 2022, at the age of 95. Along with her parents, Patricia was also preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Paul G.Buterakos; her brother, Frederick Daly and sister, Margaret Venable. Survivors include her two children, Paul (Cynthia) Buterakos, and Stephanie Buterakos-Schindlbeck; grandchildren, Matthew, Alison, Alena, and Leah; brothers, Joseph Daly, Richard (Beverly) Daly, and Robert (Luce) Daly; several nieces and nephews.
Patricia had a love for horses, was an avid horseracing fan and a longtime supporter of the Humane society. She loved music from the Frank Sinatra era, art, cooking, University of Michigan Football, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband Paul were the owner operators of Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery from 1964 until their retirement in 1997.
Patricia is a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, located at 185 E. Pontaluna Road in Norton Shores where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. After the service, a light Makaria will be offered at Bella Maria's Event Center, 513 Pontaluna Road in Norton Shores. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Harbor Humane Society, 14345 Bagley Street, West Olive, Michigan 49460. Patricia will be interred next to her husband Paul in Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
