Randy L. Carnes' Obituary
Randy Lee Carnes, age 71, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. He was born in Muskegon on December 9, 1952, to Carl, Sr. and Dorothy (Quinn) Carnes. Randy is survived by his wife of 9 years, Barb; children, Shane (Raighlyn) Carnes, Katrina (Don) Hines and Nicole (Robert Cook) Slootmaker; grandchildren, Ruth, Hunter, Katelyn, Claire, Elyse, William, Brayden, Bentley, Emma and Bryce; father-in-law, Stephen J. (Ruth Ann) Klop; siblings, Dianne (Harvey) Clover of Twin Lake, MI, Carl Jr. (Karen) Carnes of Riverview, FL, Steven (Dori) Carnes of Baldwin, MI, Pamela (Darrel) Neuman of Muskegon, MI, Susan (Tom) Hollar of Bitely, MI and Kevin (Tammy) Carnes of Muskegon, MI; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Sr. and Dorothy Carnes and by his mother-in-law, Janet K. Klop.
Randy was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. He had retired after 29 years from the Michigan Department of Corrections and Webb Chemical. Randy was a member of the Fruitport Eagles and the VFW. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, being social, and cheering on Michigan - Go Blue!
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Grand Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles #925, 20 N. 2nd Street in Grand Haven, Michigan from 2 PM to 5 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Muskegon Chapter.
