Ray Vargas' Obituary
Ray Vargas age 83 was born in Davenport, North Dakota on April 13, 1939, and passed away on July 9, 2022. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Jesusa (Calderon) Vargas; uncle and aunt Juan and Connie Calderon; and his brother, Candelario Vargas. Survivors include, a niece, Katherine Holleman; nephew, Paul Vargas; cousin, Patsy Chalko, and many other cousins and family members.
Ray was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a machinist at Kaydon, was an avid sports fan who enjoyed baseball, bowling, and all different types of sports on television. He also enjoyed getting his exercise by walking at the mall.
Ray was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Street, Muskegon Heights, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Norm Droski officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, also at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will be next to his brother, Candelario in Restlawn Cemetery.
