Roger C. Felt's Obituary
Roger Clare Felt, age 90, died Friday, October 2, 2020. He died at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 28, 1929 on Thanksgiving Day the son of Clarence and Lillie "Lynn" Felt. He married June Koopman on July 18, 1953 in Muskegon. He was a blessing to all. Roger was proud of his military service, serving with the paratroopers during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 7 and started his own company Felt Fabricating. He loved gardening, playing in the dirt and driving his tractor. He loved hunting and the outdoors, playing the guitar and sharing music and his wine with others. Roger is survived by three daughters, Tanya Austin, Cheryl (Matthew) Kaley, of Whitehall and Tammy (Craig) Smith of Kalispell, Montana; son Chad (Rhonda) Felt of Big Fork Montana; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lynn (Sally) Felt, Chuck (Margaret) Felt, Virginia (Andrew) Zieler; Ingrid (Art) Swanson. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June Felt; son, Clark Felt; grandson, Justin Austin; and brothers, George Felt and Eric Felt. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church outside in the Chapel of the Pines, 4283 N. Weber Road, Whitehall, with Pastor Carl Franzon officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (with COVID 19 restrictions in place) at Shoreline Memorial Services - Whitehall Chapel, located at 816 S. Mears Ave. Whitehall, Michigan. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Church. Roger will be buried next to his wife June in Fruitland Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church.
