Romona S. Gainey's Obituary
Romona Suzanna Gainey, age 75 was born on June 16, 1943, in Glen Jean, West Virginia to the late Rose Ann Kiszka and John Mota. She passed away on February 12, 2019. Romona was preceded in death by her husband 55 years, Charlie Gainey. Surviving are two children, Anna M. (William) Grimm and Charlie "Chip" (Cindy) Gainey; grandchildren, Samantha K. Grimm, Jennifer E. Grimm, Trinity R. Gainey, Isaac N. Gainey, Isabella J. Gainey, Reuben G. Gainey; great-granddaughter, Sofia K. Choplan; great-grandson, Alexander C.K. Herrara; siblings, Henry (Pat) Mota, Teresa Evans, Deanna Mota, Bonnie (Dean) O'Rourke, and Patty (Mel) Clott. Romona was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a Sales Representative for over 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Women's Division of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Romona and Charlie were members of Muskegon Bethel Baptist Church, 1066 E. Byron Road where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. the Reverend Doug VanderMolen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the spring at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Muskegon Bethel Baptist Church Youth Program or Missionary Program.
