Ronald L. Bouwkamp's Obituary
Ronald L. Bouwkamp, age 78 was born on December 8, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Louis and Ethel Bouwkamp and passed away on April 26, 2020. Ronald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia; four children, Dawn, Marty, Tim and Cristine; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Gregory; and three brothers, Marvin, Melvin and Roger. He was a member of All Shores Wesleyan Church, and was retired from APV Baker as a tool and die maker.
Ron was a talented carpenter who created many custom projects, from furniture to ice cream wagons for family, business, and church.
Ron's love of driving led him from racing cars at Berlin to his beloved motorhome which he and Ginny lived in and traveled around the country in for many years.
After retirement, Ron continued to us his skills at Careerline Tech as a para pro in the machine shop.
Ron will be deeply missed and always remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, mentor, friend, teacher and man of God.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.
