Ronald L. Canter's Obituary
Ronald Lee Canter, 90, of Muskegon, MI passed away February 25, 2018 surrounded by his family. Ron was born in Grand Rapids on September 25, 1927 into the loving arms of Orville and Ella Canter.
Ronald was raised on a farm in Oceana County and graduated from Hart High School. He married the love of his life Helen Hart on April 19, 1946 and they were blessed with three children.
As a young man, Ron worked at Continental Motors and Brunswick. He began his trucking career at Darling Freight. Ron shared many stories of his travels as a long-haul trucker. His wealth of mechanical experience enabled him to fix any breakdown and make it through any blizzard. Ron always stopped to help anyone needing assistance on the road.
Ronald is survived by his wife Helen and three children, Michael (Darma) Canter, Karen (Mark) Ford, and Polly Wesley (Dan Jordan). Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
Ron's family is very grateful for the loving care provided by the staff at Sanctuary at the Oaks, our friend Gisela, and Harbor Hospice of Muskegon. A family celebration of Ronald's life will be held in late summer.
