Sally Anne Gelderloos' Obituary
Sally Anne Gelderloos, a loving mother, grammy, and friend was born in Washington D.C. on July 26, 1945 to the late Walter and Margaret Schad and passed away at home on May 28, 2018. Sally is survived by her two daughters, Mary and her husband, Joseph Clawson, Suzanne Gelderloos; grandchildren, Elijah Reginald and Jeremiah Clawson; sister, Teresa (Tom) Aument; sister in law, Lori Schad; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Schad. Sally graduated from Aquinas College in 1973; she was a Dominican Sister from 1963 to 1968. Sally lived in many communities including Chicago and the areas where she was a teacher in schools of Gaylord, Grand Rapids, where she tutored several students, Ludington, Wright Township and Muskegon, mostly 3rd, 4th & 5th grades, along with teaching Art for K-8th grades. Sally worked at First of America Bank, and retired from the Ottawa County Road Commission. She was a seamstress, and loved using her artistic abilities while being active in the churches that she attended. She enjoyed reading, antique collecting, cooking, singing in choir, yard-sales, gardening, wood working, being creative, and always had a curious spirit, and appreciated a challenge. Sally enjoyed being an active member in the churches she attended, Sacred Heart Church, Our Lady of Grace, and Spring Lake Wesleyan Church where she participated in setting up the yearly pageant. She also attended Olivet Evangelical Free Church 6790 Harvey Street in Spring Lake, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Visitation will be held at the church from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be next to her family in Riverside Cemetery near Custer, Michigan. She is loved and will be missed dearly. She is at peace with her Savior. She is home with Jesus, she is free. She has a new eternal breath of life!
