Sandra K. Pfenning's Obituary
Sandra K. Pfenning, was born on July 6, 1947 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Bill and Alice VanDonkelaar and passed away on July 25, 2016 at the age of 69. Sandy is survived by her husband of over 30 years, John G. Pfenning; children, David (Amy) Shanahan, Daine (Becky) Shanahan, Mariah Kennedy, Janet Gilliland, and Joseph (Melissa) Pfenning; grandchildren, Kacy and Kody Shanahan, Sloan and Kayelyn Shanahan, Tyler (Darcy) and Devin Kennedy, Jason Janowiak, Jessica Dove, Billy Gilliland, Travis, David, and Joy Pfenning; great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Makayla, Jason, Jordan and Jayden. Siblings, Fred (Lori) VanDonkelaar, Steve (Debbie) VanDonkelaar, Linda (Dan) Hanes; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her "baby"? Peanut Butter. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale VanDonkelaar and David VanDonkelaar, in infancy. Sandy loved to sew and do upholstery work as well as being an avid BINGO player. She and her husband John spent nearly the last twenty years, wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was a longtime member of the Muskegon Big Red Chain Gang. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Sandy was a member of the Lakeside Eagles Aerie #3306 located at 2355 W. Sherman Blvd. where a Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering until 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
