Shirley May Postema's Obituary
Shirley May Postema was born on September 20, 1935 and passed away on April 27, 2022. Shirley is survived by her three children, Jack (Nancy) Postema, Janine (Hope) Ash, Joyce (Bobby) Lyons; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lavin. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Martin Postema Jr. in 2012.
Shirley worked for Whitehall Public Schools as a bus driver, and was retired from Meyer Will Drilling Inc. You could usually find Shirley in Whitehall at Gary's Restaurant. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Spectrum Health Hospice, the Newaygo County Compassion Home, and Dr. Howard LeRoux and his staff for the wonderful care given to Shirley. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Spectrum Health Hospice or the Newaygo County Compassion Home. Shirley will be interred next to her husband Martin in New Era Cemetery.
