Steven K. Rose's Obituary
Mr. Steven Keith Rose, age 39, found his peace and passed away after a longillness on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Born in Grand Rapids, MI on November 6th, 1974; he was a curious andactive boy, whether jumping in the leaves in his superman underoos, or trying todrive grandma's car at the tender age of four.He attended Godwin Heights High School, enjoyed being on the football and bowling teams and graduated from Quincy High School, in Quincy, MI in 1992.After winning a battle with cancer in 1998, he met the woman he knew wouldbe his wife after their first meeting, Dawn L. Schneider. They married on September 18,1999 and settled in Muskegon, MI. Steve was excited to buy their first home in Muskegon Heights in 2005, especially as it allowed him to finally have the Husky puphe'd always wanted. He loved his dogs, Mingan and Teh'ya. For more than 10 years, Steve was proud to be a semi- truck driver. He loved totravel the open road seeing new places, only missing being away from home toolong. Working for Griffin Transportation in Grand Rapids, he felt he found a greatwork family to be with.Steve always had varied interests and hobbies; bowling, professional wrestling, scrapbooking, model cars, crafts, investigation shows and in recent years, genealogy. He especially loved to stay close to family and friends; enjoying a Friday breakfastgathering with great aunt and uncles, a family reunion, or in recent years connecting with biological half-sisters, Deanna and Wendy.His greatest joy came from with working with children, mentoring as a Royal Ranger instructor at church, spoiling young nephews, nieces and his godson; mostespecially as a foster father. In three years as foster parents, Steve and Dawn,felt blessed to be a part of the lives of eight children. He is survived by his wife, Dawn; father, Steven (Paula) Rose; mother, Terri Mosley; paternal grandmother, Judith Rose; maternal grandparents, Marvin & Sharon Crowner; brother, Jason Rose; step-brother, David P.(Elizabeth) Snyder; step-sister,Michelle (Kirke) Best; bother "?in-law, Sean (Berenice) Schneider; father andmother-in-law, Douglas and Cheryl Schneider; many nieces and nephews;special friends, Tanya and Kenneth R. Tice II; and godson, Kenneth R. Tice III.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Rose and by his step-father, Brady Mosley.Memorial Services to be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2 o'clock atGrandville Assembly of God, 3260 52nd Street, Grandville MI 49418Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
