Steven E. Smith's Obituary
Steven Earl Smith, age 54 was born on December 21, 1966, and passed away at home on September 29, 2021. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Smith. Survivors include, his mother, Florence Smith; siblings, Bev Smith-Welborn, Vernon L. "Buzz" Smith, Jimmie (Jen) Grant, and Nancy Grant; nephews, Steven Johnson, Carl (Michele) Welborn, and Bastian (Ashleigh) Welborn; niece, Nichole Welborn; five great nephews, Christian Welborn, Matthew Welborn, Ashton Haworth, Devyn Welborn and Sheldon Welborn; great nieces, Addison Hardy, Savannah Welborn, Serenity Welborn, Sofiya Ward and Kayleigh Welborn; many "adopted" nieces and nephews; best friend Adam (Kristie) Urbanawiz; aunts, Sheila (Dan) Vanderslute and Rainie Doughty; many cousins, friends; special cousin Karen Ovall, Robert (Lynn) Gordon, and Adam Smith; special friends and neighbors, Pat and Mike Urbanawiz, Kevin Urbanawiz, Ronnie Babcock; Lisa Beckley and Michelle Lynn. Steve was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Dessert Storm, He loved cars, camping, and traveling.
Funeral Services will be held at Shoreline Memorial Services, Whitehall Chapel, 816 S. Mears Ave. in Whitehall, on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Steven will be laid to rest, with full military honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery Augusta, Michigan on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Veterans 165 E.
