Sylvia A. Rodriguez, age 73 was born on March 10, 1951, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Eluterio and Ofelia (Amaya) Mendez and passed away at home on October 14, 2024. Along with her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso in 2019; three brothers, Jose, David and Arturo. Sylvia is survived by three children, Nicholas A. Medina, Orlanda L. (Manuel) Diaz, and Michelle M. Valdez; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Theresa, Anjelica, Joel Jr., Ashleigh, Veronica, Vicente and Samantha; fifteen great-grandchildren; five siblings, Cristina (Lee Mireles) Marinez, Diana Estrada, Gloria Ramirez, Juan (Michelle Tokarczyk) Mendez, Patricia (Scott) Haiker; sister-in-law, Evie Mendez; along with many other extended family members. Sylvia loved being an entrepreneur in several different businesses.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place and arrangements are pending.
