Sylvia Joyce Schulist's Obituary
Sylvia Joyce Mary Ann (Kota) Schulist was born on March 14, 1933, in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Stephen "Pete' and Mary Kota and passed away at home on Wednesday evening, June 28, 2023. She married Stanley Peter Schulist on October 13, 1956, and resided in Muskegon, Michigan and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2019. Sylvia was a proud member of Lakeside Eagles for over 25 years.
Sylvia had a passion for her Hungarian Heritage, her family, her yard and enjoyed road trips exploring the State of Michigan.Survivors include her son Stephen; daughters, Mary, Christine, and Julia; two grandsons, Joseph and Christopher, along with her canine companion, "King".
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Hospice of North Ottawa Community. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
A visitation for Sylvia will be held at Shoreline Memorial Services Funeral Home, Muskegon Chapel, located at 137 E. Laketon Ave. on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary Services at 2:00 p.m. Following the Rosary Service, she will be entombed next to her husband Stanley at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A continuation of fellowship and refreshments will be held following the entombment at Lakeside Eagles, 2355 W. Sherman Blvd. Muskegon starting at 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
