Thomas Edward Boismier's Obituary
Thomas Edward Boismier was born November 21, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Francis A. and Lucille I. (Johnson) Boismier and passed away on February 2, 2023. He is survived by two sons, Daniel Boismier, of Columbia, South Carolina and Luke Boismier, of Seattle, Washington; sisters, Joyce Looney, of Ravenna, Michigan, Mary Johnson, of Washington, DC; and a brother Jim Boismier, of Norton Shores, Michigan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by, three brothers, William, Michael, and Danny Boismier,
Thomas was graduated from Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan and then from Wayne State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and from the University of Michigan with a master's degree in public health. According to his LinkedIn account, he was, A dynamic healthcare mentor, educator and leader experienced in building and leading diverse multidisciplinary teams. Tom was a problem solver and collaborator able to work across department and institutional lines to accomplish goals. As Neurolign's Head of Sales, Training and Clinical Product Support, Tom was responsible for the Customer Experience.
Prior to joining Neurolign, Tom worked with balance patients for over 30 years, both in academic and private practice settings. He trained and worked for 10 years at University of Michigan under Neil Shepard. He spent 22 years as the director of the ENT Balance Center in Fort Wayne Indiana, A very busy private practice that sees over 800 patients per year for balance diagnostics.
With a background in psychology and public health, he was very interested in interdisciplinary team approaches to care. Tom spent 2 years on the board of the Vestibular Disorders Association and served on the American Balance Society bylaws committee. He has taught balance testing to professionals nationwide and abroad, both by invitation and while working with various equipment vendors. His areas of interest include practical approaches to diagnosis, vestibular migraine, the cognitive and psychological effects of vestibular disorders, and multifactorial disequilibrium. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycle trips, concerts and a nice cold IPA.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering/Memorial Service will be held later. Arrangements by Shoreline Memorial Services - Muskegon Chapel - (231)-722-5050
