Timothy O. Mickelson's Obituary
Timothy Otto Mickelson passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2017 after a long, hard fought battle against Huntington's Disease. He is finally free of the anguish and the unbearable and unrelenting effects of this devastating disease. He is finally at peace.
He was born on July 8, 1964 to Jack Mickelson and Darlene (Stevens) Hester in Menomonie, WI. He resided in Lake Park, FL for many years prior to moving to Muskegon, MI.
Tim touched the lives of everyone he met. He had an infectious laugh that brought smiles to all our faces. He loved the outdoors especially quadding with friends and family, fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand. He loved spending time with his wife and family.
Prior to his diagnosis in 2005, he worked for 25 years at Classic Counters of the Palm Beaches as a custom Corian fabricator/installer. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post 268 in Riviera Beach, FL where he had many longtime friends and wonderful memories. Most recently he was a member of the Lakeside Eagles where he enjoyed meeting new friends and participating in social activities.
He is preceded in death by his father Jack Mickelson, a brother Andrew (13) and sister Wendy (3 days).
He leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Chari (Straley) Mickelson; daughter, Erin Madalyn Mickelson; Mother and Stepfather, Mike and Darlene Hester; sister, Robin Mickelson and many much loved Aunts, Uncles, Brothers- and Sisters-in law, Nieces and Nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but especially by his great niece Adrianna with whom he had a very special bond.
Tim was an organ donor. Even after death he will continue to touch the lives of others, in particular, his brain has been donated to the John Hopkins University for research pertaining to many forms of brain illnesses.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held October 21, 2017, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the home of Jim and Peggy locate at 2276 Crozier, Muskegon, Michigan.
