Vallee "Big Momma" McCrary's Obituary
Vallee "Big Momma" McCrary, age 89 was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 30, 1933, and passed away at home on February 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel (Johnnie) Woods and Mack Kornbacher; her son, Lindsey Jr. McCrary; two brothers, Joseph, and William Kornbacher; granddaughter, Michelle Green. Survivors include her children, Valerie (Jacques Mitchell) Alcorn, Johnny (Cynthia) Alcorn, Ethel Fay Alcorn-Lummen, Phyllis (Ted) Green, Eugene (Liz) Alcorn Jr., Terry McCrary; grandchildren, Stacy (Marquita) Holt, Tonya Willingham, Glenda (James) Williams, Aaron (Wei Li) Hobson, Eric (Sarah) Alcorn, Jeremy Peppers, Diane Green, PJ (Vicki) Alcorn, Terrell, Michael, Precious, and Amber McCrary; over thirty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; niece Joanne Kornbacher; special friend Shirley (Rob) Karakis, along with a host of cousins and extended family.
Big Momma was retired from Hackley Hospital after many years of service and also worked as a horticulturist. She loved to read, was an avid bowler, NFL Football fan, played Bid Whiz, Pokeno and BINGO. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Shoreline Memorial Services, 137 E. Laketon Ave. in Muskegon. Masks are required for the gathering. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home.
