Verlin Keith "Skeeter" McClees' Obituary
Verlin Keith McClees aka "Skeeter" to his friends, moved onto his next great adventure on May 21, 2022, at the age of 83. He was born on January 27, 1939, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Everett G. and Lelah (Brown) McClees. Keith was an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed traveling wherever the road would take him with his trusty Orangutang buckled in the back. He never found the need to reference a map as the sun and the open road were the guides. The roads he traveled often took him to a place where he could hunt. Whether it be Colorado or Arizona he would find a place to hunker down in the woods for a bit, only to be chased out again by the DNR. Keith's philosophy on rules were that rules were suggestions and therefore optional. He was a NASCAR fan through and through and would often be found in his favorite chair watching the races through his eyelids. Keith loved being a prankster with his grandchildren and was an extremely loyal friend. We hope that you take a moment and reflect on what Keith meant in your life and that it brings you a big smile and a chuckle.
Keith is survived by 3 children, Sue (Greg) Cavanaugh, Laura (Tim Moorman) McClees-Wheeler, and Jeffery McClees; 6 grandchildren, Courtney (Dan) Maiden, Lindsey (Lee) Armstrong, Jeni (Joshua) Hoeksema, Steven (Heather) McClees, Cody (Amanda) McClees, Nichole (Dave) Robb; 15 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Betty Jo Marshall, and June Loerzel; multiple nieces and nephews including, Sharon Woody. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his 11 siblings.
In following with his wishes, cremation has taken place & there will be no service. A small gathering of remembrance may be planned in the future, information to be shared at that time.
