Vernard C. Witchell's Obituary
Mr. Vernard "Vern"? C. Witchell, age 84, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on Sunday, May 5, 2014. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on March 23, 1930 to Cleo and Goldie (Schulanburg) Witchell. Vern is survived by his three daughters, Cathy (Robert) Atkin, Michele (Jack Thiele) Rogers and Dawn (Wes) Sander, all of Muskegon; seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Patty Witchell of Coldwater, MI. Vern loved his grandchildren dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Frances. Vern was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 3195. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, and had retired from Muskegon Piston Ring. Vern was an avid hockey fan and an outdoor hunting and fishing enthusiast. He loved yard sales and had worked at Airport Antique Mall for many years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd., with the Rev. Bill Uetricht officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time from 12 PM to 1 PM at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Mercy VNS & Hospice Services.
