Vicki L. Hendrix's Obituary
Vicki Lynn (Nadeau) Hendrix, age 74, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. Vicki was born on September 25, 1949 in Fremont, MI to W.J. and Violet (Baddis) Nadeau. Vicki grew up in Fremont and resided there for most of her life. Vicki married Huey Hendrix in Fremont on September 23, 1972 and together raised their three children and enjoyed time with their expanding family. Vicki was also proud of the time she spent over the years working in Fremont as part-owner of Amy's Restuarant, as well as working at Hartsema's Newsstand and Engrave-All Trophy.Above all else, Vicki's life was centered around her family. She was so proud of always being there for her boys no matter what at any time of the day or night. You could always count on Vicki on being the loudest cheerleader at any event involving her family, often hearing her cheers above all else. She also often sacrificed her time and talents to make sure that family members in need received much love and care. Vicki was the first on the scene and the last to leave most any situation, bringing humor and peace to all around her.Her hobbies included playing the "hottest" slot machines at the casino and BINGO, being a valuable member of her bowling and softball leagues, hunting for the perfect stones along the shores of Lake Superior, spending time outside by the lake, dancing to pretty much any music around her (with her all-time favorite being Elvis Presley) and traveling whenever she could with her friends and family.Vicki is survived by her three sons - Todd (Melissa) Hendrix of Fremont, MI, Jace (Stephanie Hample) Hendrix of Muskegon, MI and Chad (Sara) Hendrix of Allendale, MI; eight grandchildren Elyse (Damian Palmer) and Kyla Hendrix, Sabrina and Madison Hample, Tyler, Madelyn, Rylee and Ashlyn Hendrix; four great-grandchildren Braxton, Knox, Baylor and Steely; one sister Jane Ann Rottman, two sisters-in-law Judy Nadeau and Diane Nadeau, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Max Nadeau, Rex Nadeau, Gary Nadeau and Van Nadeau, and one sister Yvonne (Nadeau) King.A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 12 at the Fremont Moose Lodge, 15 W Main Street, Fremont, MI 49412 from 4:00-7:00. All family and friends are encouraged to attend to celebrate the life of Vicki, sharing memories and enjoying time with each other and the family.
