William Albert Jandt's Obituary
William Albert Jandt, "Bill" was born on January 5, 1945, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Albert C. and Mary C. (Hartley) Jandt and passed away on July 22, 2025. Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Jandt; four siblings, Sandra Pastoor, Elsa Griesbach, Phyllis Derda, and Robert Jandt. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret Jandt; daughter, Angie (Eric) Lindstrom; four grandchildren, Hannah (Quinn) Jandt, Liam Lindstrom, Madelyn Jandt, and Keira (John) Lindstrom; great-granddaughter, Brinley; daughter-in-law, Amy Jandt; brother, Tom (Beth) Jandt; several nieces, nephews and grand dogs. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He was retired from GTE/Verizon, Muskegon Public Schools and MAP (Mission for Area People).
Bill enjoyed watching sports and westerns on television. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially family outings with his brothers. Bill often had a joke at the ready, and his grandchildren looked forward to the candy stash in the Tupperware when visiting. Bill was a member for over 50 years at the Muskegon Vet's Club and Rec Club. Bill spent many years volunteering for the security detail with the Muskegon Big Reds Football team. He was very active for over 40 years at the Vikings Lodge, where a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held later this summer.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Bill and Margaret are longtime members of Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 3225 Roosevelt Road, Norton Shores, Michigan where a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
