William James Root's Obituary
William James Root, age 69 was born on June 28, 1954, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Robert and Clara Mae Root, and passed away on February 12, 2024. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Brent Root, brother, Robert Estes, granddaughter, Brooklynn Root, and great nephews, Chad Estes William is survived by Lori Root; daughters, Debra M. Root, and Stephanie (Chase) Erens; grandchildren, Taylor Root, Dylan (Lauren) Eacker, Madison Root, Olivia Martinez, Chloe Martinez, Benjamin Burns; five great-grandchildren; five siblings, Debra K. Root, Rick (Marie) Root, Tom (Yvonne) Root, Randy (Terrie) Root, and Ken Root.
William was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was a jokester, gamer, and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He retired from Burgess Norton.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place. William attended Wolf Lake Community Church, 1070 S. Wolf Lake Road, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bryce Sherwood officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Inurnment will be held later this summer in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan.
