Zona R. Pfenning's Obituary
Zona Rae Pfennig, age74, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. She was born in Hastings, Michigan on April 22, 1949, to Hiram and Charlotte Flater. Zona is survived by her husband of 48 years, Fred, Sr.; 2 children, Cindi (Lyle) Lawson of Muskegon and Fred Jr. (Samantha) Pfenning of Rothbury; 2 grandchildren, Maddox and Maddyson; sister, Lois Flater of Manistee; 2 brothers, James (Judi) Flater of Holland and Roger Flater of Muskegon; brother-in-law, John Pfenning of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; 4 grand puppies. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Phil and Ted Flater and mother-in-law, Margaret Walker.
Zona enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing BINGO.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 2-5 PM at the Muskegon Eagles #668, 621 W. Western Ave. in downtown Muskegon. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dementia Society of America or National MS Society.
