Carol E. Hollar's Obituary
Carol E. Hollar, age 82 was born on January 7, 1942, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late E. Dean and Ruth (Timmick) Hill and passed away at home under the loving care of her family on February 19, 2024. Carol is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Philip W. Hollar; children, Randy (Natasha) Domina, and Theressa "Terri" (Michael) Guthrie; grandchildren, Alex (Jarid) Dickinson, Chelsea (Simeone) Cochrane, Christopher Petta, Emilee (Joseph) Sheffer, Megan (Jacob) Gwin; Natalie (Caleb Rodriguez) Petta, Elizabeth (Toby Rustin) Petta, and Rebecca "Beck" Petta; five great-grandchildren, Lucian and Sybil Cochrane, Edith Gwin, Perrin and Eleanor Dickinson, and Baby Sheffer arriving in June; two sisters, Ruthann Wikman and Patricia Soderlind; sister-in-law, Laura Hollar; several nieces and nephews.
Carol graduated from Muskegon High School and the Hackley School of Nursing. She and Phil fostered dozens of severely handicapped children. She loved to travel with family. She and Phil spent 30 years volunteering with various projects and organizations including Wycliffe Bible Translators. According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
Carol had been a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Grand Haven, then she became a member at Lakeshore Baptist Church,17306 Church Hill Street, Grand Haven, Michigan where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Nate Birkholz officiating. Visitation will be held, also at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds or the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the church.
