Your life has been a blessing to us Uncle Babe. You always made us feel so welcome with our big family when we came to Twin Lake. Once we brought a camper, and you convinced us to park it right outside your door! Some of our boys had their first fishing experience right off of "Uncle Babe's dock." Then there were the wonderful sentimental memories we shared of days when you searched for your big brother, Fred, during the war--and even though you were so far from home, you found him! You had a rose bush that had belonged to grandpa and insisted that we take a cutting from it home with us-but I'm afraid our thumb was not as green. And yes, that twinkle in your eyes we will all miss-one that was shared by grandma and all of her children. Twin Lake, Michigan was always the place John spent a summer trip with his parents-and the fun, love, and hospitality of Aunt Betty and Uncle Babe were highlights of those childhood memories. Trips from Florida or trips from Tennessee never seemed too far to make or to share memories. We miss u Uncle Babe.
