Christine E. Ahlstedt's Obituary
Christine E. Ahlstedt, age 59, entered into Heaven on February 23, 2019. She was born on January 18, 1960 as Christine E. Olson. The Olson family eventually moved from Rockford, Michigan to Evart and started the Christian non-denominational Spring Hill Camp. Christine worked at Spring Hill. She graduated in 1983 from Ferris University with a food service management degree. She was the food service director at the camp, overseeing a staff of 35, serving 12,700 meals per week. Christine married her one and only, Jim Ahlstedt in 1995. They moved to North Muskegon in 1996. She continued her food service management career until joining her husband Jim in ownership of waterfront senior mobile home parks in 2001. Christine and Jim retired in August 2012. They never raised a family due to medical warnings of developing cancer. Cancer took Christine's mother Nancy's life in 1971, along with Nancy's two sisters, Christine's only sibling Mark, two grandparents, and a cousin. In spite of heeding all precautions, Christine succumbed to cancer. She was best known as Godly, giving and gentle. Her greatest joy was being with Jim and Jim's late parents, Jim and Doris Ahlstedt. She also enjoyed Labrador retrievers, water related activities and travel. Christine and Jim's residence is on the Big Sauble River, North of Ludington. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 10th at 3:00 p.m. (visitation at 2:00 p.m.) at Shoreline Memorial Services, 816 South Mears Ave. Whitehall, MI 49461. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Spring Hill Camp Christine Ahlstedt Memorial Kitchen Fund.
