I don't really have words to describe what my grandmother means to me. Because if you knew her she touched everyone's heart and always put others before herself. With that, I would like to share two of the best days I had with her. December 2016: I was home from college and we decided to have a girls day to catch up. I picked her up from her apartment and we went to get our nails done. I told her I was getting a "sparkle nail" and she loved it so much she got one too! After getting pampered with nails we stopped at Starbuck for a coffee, decaf of course for grandma. We stayed there for over an hour just talking. The topic of Christmas pictures came up and she mentioned she has no good pictures of just her. Again, putting others before herself. The next day, I visited her again at her apartment and brought a fancy camera my aunt let me barrow. I told her, "Grandma, it's photo shoot day!" Grandma got all dolled up. If you know Dawn she loves her jewelry so I let her wear my big red necklace. We then walked around her apartment to find the prettiest tree to take pictures in front of. After taking all the pictures and Grandma trying to set me up the the maintenance man (LOL), we printed the best one off and put them in Christmas cards to hand out to family. I still have these pictures today and will hold them close since I can no longer hold her hand. That day was so special for me and her. Rest easy grandma. It's now grandpas turn to hold your hand again. Dawn Betty Leady March 16, 1935 - January 18, 2022 ❤️
