Freda V. Felan's Obituary
Freda V. (Schneider) Felan passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake.
She was born on March 3, 1932, to the late Peter and Elizabeth (Gross) Schneider in Charlevoix, MI.
Freda grew up in Ludington, MI and graduated from St. Simon's High School in 1950. She lived for several years in Montague, MI and lived for the past 9 years in Spring Lake, MI.
Freda enjoyed knitting, reading, word puzzles, and especially spending time with her family. Her family fondly remembers the delicious baked goods and meals that she loved to prepare. She loved having the opportunity to pass down some of her recipes to her granddaughters. Until the end, Freda was rooted in her Catholic faith and awaiting the time when she would be welcomed into Jesus' arms.
Freda was the last born of a blended family of nine brothers and three sisters who preceded her in death: Stephen, Anthony, Roy, Chester, Wayne, Jack, Edgar, Norman, Daniel, Madeline, Helen and June.
Freda will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Maria (Scott) Busch; stepdaughter, Kathy (Bernie) Jay; stepson, Tony (Kim) Felan; grandchildren: Madison, Mallorie, Raymond, Ryan, Brendon and Casey; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass for Freda will take place at noon, on Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Fr. Charlie Hall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Montague.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity Health at Home Hospice - Grand Haven or to the family for funeral expenses.
