Sherri , Brandy and family , I'm so sorry for your loss . My prayers will be with you all . Unfortunately I didn't know John well I've only meant him once but was very impressed . He seemed like a very nice guy . Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you all at this difficult time .
I remember JohnFloyd as a child, he was the apple of his dad's eye, learning to hunt at an early age, and like his father, uncle's and grandad he was handling his own horse at a young age. Good, honest kid.
Our family were close friends with the Cowell family as the kids were growing up . My son Mike and John Floyd were good friends in middle and high school. One time John Floyd dad and I took the boys coon hunting when they were around 10 and 12 years old. We left the boys in the truck to go get the dogs in the woods . We then got lost all night and John Floyd and Mike stayed all night in the truck alone . They thought it a great adventure although their mothers weren't happy . Several other memories include family get togethers , having John Floyd stay overnight and several other fun times. We remember him as being one of the nicest , politest and decent person we have ever known. Stan , Karen , Mike , and Stacy Royalty offer our heartfelt condolences to the entire Cowell family.
I went to middle school and high school with John and he was an amazing friend. I was so nervous on my first day at a new school. John offered me a seat and introduced himself to me. We became quick friends and teammates in football. John was always so positive and a great friend to talk with. It has been a few years since but I know how important being a great dad and husband was to him. I want to offer my deepest condolences to his wife and children. He will be missed greatly.

My favorite memory of John is when we were both working together at chestnut golf course. John was in the shop, thought he was by his self I walk in he don't see me or hear me. I stand there for a couple minutes laughing as he's singing and dancing to the song slim shady. I wish everyone could have seen his face when he seen me we laughed so hard about this for months. I'm so glad we were able to get to know you better this last couple of years. Coaching baseball is who you were, and you were fantastic at it. Tonight Samuel (Sammy, I can't help it) asked Andy to be his coach, it's heartbreaking and an honor. Thank you for the memories and laughs. We will miss you. Until we meet again......
