Joy C. Sherwood's Obituary
Joy Christine Sherwood, age 70, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 26, 1951, her parents being James and June Savage. Joy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bryce; 4 children, James "JJ" (Rebecca) Sherwood of Auburn Hills, MI, Christina (Joshua) Fredenburg of Youngsville, LA, Elisabeth (Timothy) Heitzmann of Livonia, MI, and Benjamin (Lauren) Sherwood of Milwaukee, WI; 7 grandchildren, Allie, Grace, Luke, Olivia, Norah, Lydia, and Owen; brother, Jonathan Savage of Iowa; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joy was an active member and pastor's wife at Wolf Lake Community Church. She was instrumental in church plantings, missions, and pastoral care at locations all over the world. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, quilting, sewing, puzzles, gardening, and serving others. She made everyone in her home feel welcomed and she loved her children's friends as if they were her own. Hospitality was a gift of hers. She prayed for and loved many.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Bridge Bible Church Dalton Campus. Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by an 11:00am service. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Wolf Lake Community Church.
