Lois E. Visser's Obituary
Lois Elaine Visser, age 88, born on December 7, 1936, went home to be with the Lord on April 4,2025. Surrounded by her loving family, Lois passed peacefully in her sleep at Trinity HealthHospital.
Lois enjoyed a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper with Superior Oil; however, her greatest passionwas music. She dedicated her life to teaching piano and served as a pianist for numerouschurches and local funeral homes, sharing her love of music with many.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark Visser; her parents, Albert and Ida(Bouwkamp) Slater; and her brother, Donald Slater. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter,Joy (Bryan) Proctor, and their children: Stephen (Bethany Lamb) Proctor, Nicole (Jake) Krol,Deb (Mackenzie) Bonzelaar, and Nathan (Ashley) Proctor. She is also survived by Mark'schildren, Adam Visser and Chris (Baylee) Jennings. Lois cherished her nine great-grandchildren,each of whom held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her immediate family, Lois is survived by her in-laws: Kay Slater (sister-in-law),Joyce Vanderwall (sister-in-law), Arthur Visser (brother-in-law), Dick Visser (brother-in-law),and Jean Henion (sister-in-law).
A devoted member of Crestwood United Methodist Church, Lois found joy and community inher faith. Her passion for Christ only grew stronger in her later years, leading her to attendadditional services at Black Lake Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at Crestwood United Methodist Church, located at 1220Crestwood St., Muskegon, MI 49442 on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
• Visitation: 10 AM• Service: 11 AM, with a luncheon to follow• Internment: Spring Lake Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crestwood United MethodistChurch Building Fund (1220 Crestwood St., Muskegon, MI 49442) and/or the Black LakeBaptist Foyer Addition Fund (842 E. Pontaluna Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49444).
Lois will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and music will continue toresonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
