Roger "Red" B. Sloan's Obituary
Roger Burton Sloan "Red", age 81, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. He was born on October 26, 1941, to Howard and Alma Sloan. Red is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda; 4 children, Alan (Tammy) Sloan, Debbie (Steve) Perry, Catherine (Tony) Dowdy and Christine (Tim) Chase all of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Carl Sloan.
Red had worked as the owner and operator of Red's Cycle Repair, and Sloan Construction. He then worked as a building inspector for Muskegon, Roosevelt Park and Cedar Creek Township. Red was a member of Rolling Thunder Michigan Chapter 4. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his 57 Chevy.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 12 Noon to 3:00 PM at Crestwood United Methodist Church, 1220 Creston in Muskegon. Memorial contributions can be made to Miss Sawyer's "Kids with a Cause" 516 S. James St., Ludington, MI, 49431.
