Samuel A. Mattson's Obituary
Samuel Allen Mattson age 65 was born on August 11, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Harry and Patricia Mattson and passed away on January 14, 2018. Sam is survived by his three sons, Adam, Ryan, and Brandon (Kirstin); two grandsons, Matthew and Jacob; significant other of 27 years, Cheryl Eikey and her three daughters, Christy (Doug) Andrews, Jennifer (Allan) Krapohl, Tricia (Chris) Goffin; and her 11 grandchildren; siblings, Marsha (Dale) Allen, Barb (Bill) Sternburgh, Kathy Kauranen; canine companion, Winston. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Mattson and a brother-in-law, Steve Kauranen. Sam was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era and worked for the Village Baker in Spring Lake. He could regularly be seen at the Muskegon Farmers Market. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Hathaway Lakes Community Center Clubhouse, 16927 Birchview Drive, Nunica, Michigan from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a time of reflection and memory sharing starting at 4:30, Pastor Dan Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Marsha Allen to help with funeral expenses.
